Jeannie is an Arizona native, living here her entire life with the exception of a couple of years in Chicago (which will always have a piece of her heart). Always having a love for helping others, she has worked with helping others her entire adult life. She is a dedicated Speech -Language Pathologist, always reading, learning, listening, and applying new strategies/ techniques to her practice. She also works part-time as a birth doula, helping families through pregnancy and childbirth.
She has worked with children in the field for 15 years. Jeannie has worked with a variety of disorders and delays, including but not limited to: receptive and expressive language disorders, developmental delays, Autism Spectrum disorder, speech sound disorders: Childhood Apraxia of speech, articulation and phonological disorders, and combinations of these; fluency disorders, language learning delays, intellectual disabilities, medically fragile children, cerebral palsy, chromosomal syndromes including Downs Syndrome, Deaf/ hard of hearing, cleft/ lip palate repairs, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), use with Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), and social pragmatic language. Jeannie is trained with PECS, the complexity approach for phonology, and the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) for adults and children.
