If needs are present such as:
In this age group, we must assess your child as soon as concerns are present. We need to identify your child’s specific needs with a well-formulated treatment plan. This allows us to target the root cause of any concerns, leading to a more accurate diagnosis and implementing effective treatment strategies. Early intervention is critical to preventing functional problems now and in the future.
At My Myo, we are committed to providing you with the highest level of care and ensuring your needs are met effectively from the start.
We look forward to discussing your assessment in more detail during your appointment. Should you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team.
This is the first step for all new clients, even those with referrals from other specialists. During the consult, we discuss your specific concerns, review your symptoms, and explain how our therapy can help address those issues. This ensures we're the right fit for your needs and that you understand our approach before beginning treatment.
Think of this as a Q&A.
This is where we begin collecting the baseline information we need to track progress with photos, measurements, oral functions, swallow functions, eating, and drinking assessments. The assessment is for people who are ready to begin and don't have any questions regarding our treatment, process, or any other questions. This appointment is dedicated entirely to data collection, which is why there isn't time during the assessment to answer questions or provide detailed explanations. That's what the consultation is for. You may receive a few initial exercises to begin at home.
If you have questions, start with a Consultation.
After the assessment, the following sessions are dedicated to teaching exercises and techniques that you'll work on at home. This is where the real work begins.
You need an assessment to begin the lessons.
Periodically, we redo the photos, measurements, oral functions, swallow functions, eating, and drinking assessments that were completed during the initial assessment. This allows us to compare progress from the baseline, see what's working, and direct the next steps in the treatment plan.
After we do a handful of lessons, we will do a progress session.
