Asthma is a condition in which the airways in the lungs can become inflamed and narrow. This can make it feel difficult to breathe, and or catch a full breath. We call this feeling “air hunger.” The symptoms of asthma alone can exacerbate the cause of asthma; causing the individual to over breathe to compensate to try to get more oxygen.
The body’s way of compensating by over-breathing becomes a cycle, and symptoms can be unmanageable at times.
